Apply on Mercor

I am sending you to the official Mercor page. Applying is free and in English.

I earn a commission from the platform when a candidate I referred gets hired. It changes nothing for you.

This remote role involves adjudicating transaction monitoring alerts, reviewing KYC packets, and drafting SAR narratives using mock files. Candidates need three or more years of hands-on AML, KYC, or financial crime experience and knowledge of regulatory frameworks.

Description in English, as published by Mercor.

About the work We're building a high-quality library of realistic financial-crime and KYC analyst work products. You'll complete self-contained case exercises from mock files (no live-system or client-data access) and produce the analyst deliverable for each, the same work you'd do on the job, graded against a rubric. Every client-style output ends as a draft.

What you'll do

  • Adjudicate transaction-monitoring alerts from an alert packet + KYC/CDD profile + transaction history; document the disposition and draft the SAR narrative where warranted.

  • Review client onboarding / KYC packets for completeness and cross-document discrepancies; produce the remediation list.

  • Resolve multi-layer beneficial-ownership structures and apply 10%/25% UBO thresholds.

  • Adjudicate sanctions and adverse-media hits (true match / false positive / escalate) with a short rationale each.

  • Triage supervisory alert queues; adjudicate card fraud & disputes; assess flagged communications against trade records.

You're a fit if you have

  • 3+ years hands-on in AML / financial-crime, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, fraud/disputes, or transaction surveillance at a bank, fintech, payments company, or MSB.

  • Working knowledge of FinCEN / FATF / OFAC frameworks and SAR / CDD documentation standards.

  • Clear, defensible written rationales.

Nice to have

  • CAMS/ACAMS or CFE; enhanced due diligence / entity unwinding; SQL or transaction analytics; fintech / payments experience.

Assessment A timed exercise: a mock alert packet → disposition + SAR narrative; a KYC packet → discrepancy & remediation list; a batch of sanctions hits → adjudication with rationale.

Details Contract, hourly (~15 hrs/week), remote, US-based. Pay $75-100/hr based on experience.
