Role Overview:
We are seeking an Education/LMS Administrator with advanced hands-on experience in Moodle administration and academic technology workflows. The role involves building realistic educational environments to benchmark AI models on learning management systems. The expert will configure courses, manage cohorts and permissions, set up gradebooks and assessments, execute reference workflows, and define accurate verification criteria.
Applications and Toolchain
Moodle, Canvas, Google Classroom, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Moodle backup files (.mbz), Moodle REST Web Services API, SCORM, and Moodle database tables such as mdl_course, mdl_grade_items, and mdl_quiz
Key Responsibilities
- Map Moodle capabilities, including course creation, user enrollment, role permissions, gradebook calculations, quizzes, competency frameworks, and SCORM integration.
- Create realistic academic assets, including course syllabi, grading policies, quiz question banks, student cohorts, and SCORM modules.
- Configure complete courses and grade calculation workflows in Moodle while recording reference execution traces.
- Define database and file-based verification checks for course, gradebook, quiz, cohort, and backup states.
- Review LMS workflows and task instructions for accuracy, clarity, solvability, and completeness.
- Explain why an LMS permission structure or gradebook calculation is technically correct.
Job Requirements
- Professional experience as an LMS Administrator, Instructional Designer, Academic Systems Coordinator, or EdTech Specialist.
- Mandatory hands-on experience administering Moodle.
- Strong knowledge of Moodle course settings, user enrollment, role permissions, and gradebook configuration.
- Understanding of Natural and Weighted Mean grade aggregation formulas.
- Knowledge of question-bank categorization, access restrictions, competency frameworks, cohort synchronization, and SCORM integration.
- Ability to create realistic academic course structures and assessment workflows.
- Ability to validate LMS permissions, grade calculations, and database states with technical precision.
- Clear written English for creating accurate academic task instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Moodle course backup and restore archives, including .mbz and XML structures.
- Experience with Moodle REST Web Services API.
- Familiarity with Canvas LMS or Open edX.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL-based database verification.
- Experience with academic systems benchmarking or LMS quality assurance.
