AI data partnerships · micro1

License your company's data for AI training Even after a shutdown.

micro1, an American artificial intelligence company, pays companies with 30 or more employees for the right to use their internal data, provided it is mostly in English: SOPs, knowledge bases, CRM records, project histories, Slack or Teams messages. According to micro1, a deal brings the company from $100,000 to more than $2 million, and companies that have closed qualify too.

GDPR

GDPR and confidentiality: what to know before signing

What micro1 states

  • micro1 anonymizes the data itself
  • License limited to labs and companies in the United States and allied countries
  • You keep ownership of your data
  • You can review samples before use
  • Deletion on request, under the contract

What I advise you to ask for

FAQ

Your questions

Can I sell the data of a startup that has shut down?

Yes, through micro1's Defunct Company Data Partnership, if the company had 30 or more employees at its peak, was based in one of the 10 accepted countries (including the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and France) and left a substantial Slack or Teams history in English.

What kind of company data does micro1 pay for?

Operational data produced in the normal course of business: SOPs, knowledge bases, internal messages, project histories, CRM records, support tickets, QA processes, technical documentation, and finance or legal workflows. micro1 uses it to train and evaluate AI agents.

How much can a company earn?

According to micro1, from $100,000 to more than $2 million per approved data package. The amount depends on the quality, uniqueness and volume of the data, and it is set in a license agreement with micro1.

Does the data have to be in English?

Yes. micro1 asks an operating company for at least 70% of its data in English, and a closed company for data in English. A company that works day to day in French, German, Spanish or Italian does not qualify today.

Is it GDPR compliant?

micro1 says it anonymizes the data, licenses it only to labs and companies in the United States and allied countries, and lets you review samples. Its public page does not mention the GDPR, so ask for a data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses, and check with your DPO or lawyer before signing.

When is the company paid?

After the transfer, micro1 checks that the data is complete, then pays within 30 days of accepting it, according to the process it publishes.

Who is micro1?

micro1 is an American company that provides human experts and training data to AI labs. Its data partnership program buys the right to use companies' operational data.

Why go through your link, and are you paid?

I am a micro1 referral partner, not an employee. micro1 only credits a referral when the company registers through the partner's link. If your company signs a data partnership, micro1 pays me a referral fee; your company pays me nothing.

Can you register my company for me?

No. The company's contact person creates the profile on micro1 through my link and fills in the data manifest. I can answer your questions before you start.
